Web design is the question of how a page should look and how it should behave. Our studio is on the road: your office, your venue, your town. It covers layout, the words on the page, and the graphics. A designer chooses a theme, colors, motion, buttons, navigation, stylesheets, images, and type. The work is done in HTML and CSS, with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD.
A business site needs both the design and the build. Design is the look, the visual order, the time a page takes to load, what each page says, and whether a person can use it, including on a phone. Development is how data is handled, the methods and the database behind the pages, connections to other platforms, and a site that is not full of bugs.
A studio that can take the whole project should also be able to design something custom and talk plainly about the platform. WordPress is the usual place to start. Some projects call for a custom front end, including React. A hosted builder is the right fit for others. The choice should follow the site, not a trend.
Why one team is easier than several
Splitting a site across several companies feels flexible until the handoffs start. When one studio owns the project, the work gets simpler in specific ways.
- There is a blueprint of the whole site, so each piece is easier to build.
- You can see the structure before the pages are finished, which makes the plan easier to understand.
- Each kind of task sits with people who do that task. One group is not improvising every module.
- A project manager is the person you talk to. Specialists still do the work. You are not managing five vendors.
- The tasks go to the people who are good at them, with someone responsible for keeping them aimed.
- Fewer handoffs means the schedule is easier to keep.
- There are fewer gaps between what you asked for and what arrives.
- Care of the site after launch can stay with the same team.
- Hosting can be part of the same conversation, instead of a second search.
- You still have real choices: platform, design direction, and which features earn their place.
A full-service studio should also be able to talk about stats you can read, an interface people can use, a site that can be translated, domain and hosting setup, and pages that adapt to the screen. The creative work is what makes a site feel alive. Clear delivery is what makes it usable.
What people mean by a modern layout
The layouts clients asked for around this time shared a few habits: large type, images that scale, video in the background, a flatter visual style, simple menus, large product photography, sections arranged like cards, and short clips or GIFs of the product. None of those are requirements. They are options. The test is whether they help someone understand the business.
The short version
One team that holds the whole project will hear the requirement more clearly, then hand each piece to the person who should build it. You get a structure, a manager, and updates in one place. The work is easier to finish because less of it is being translated between companies.
